I’m not sure I can afford to pay for my general or cosmetic dentistry and dentistry treatments upfront. Is there any financing available?
At the Dental Health Group, we strive to make a variety of financing options available to a wide range of patients. Ask us about ways to disperse payments over a longer period. Alternatively, we accept many different types of payment so that you can pay the best way for you. This includes cash and most major credit cards as well as dental insurance.
When should I bring my child in for his or her first dental visit?
Dental professionals agree that you should schedule your child’s first appointment when his or her first tooth emerges or at his or her first birthday — whichever comes first.
I’m interested in professional tooth whitening, but I’m worried about my enamel. Is tooth whitening safe for my teeth?
Yes! Teeth whitening is one of the most conservative methods for enhancing your smile. In fact, if you experience any side effects at all, they will be as minor as temporary tooth sensitivity, which should go away quickly. To whiten your teeth, your dental professional will apply or provide you with peroxide gel, which will in turn lift stains by permeating your tooth enamel — all without damaging your enamel in any way.
What are my options for crooked teeth?
Luckily, their are several options for treating crooked teeth, ranging from cosmetic bonding and porcelain veneers to orthodontics. Depending on your level of crowding, your dentist may recommend traditional braces, or Invisalign® for milder cases. Invisalign® is a relatively new treatment option that consists of a series of clear removable aligners that move your teeth over time. It’s a virtually invisible way to straighten out teeth without braces.
Is there anything I can do about my missing tooth (or teeth)?
Definitely; in fact, there are many solutions at your disposal, including dental implants, dental bridges and dentures. Of these options, dental implants are today’s most popular option among dental professionals and patients alike, as they not only look great but they will also return you to normal functioning as soon as they are implanted. Regardless of the solution you choose, it’s important to take some intervention, as gaps in the mouth can cause other teeth to shift and can spark a cascade of other troubles, such as problems eating and speaking. Plus, don’t you deserve a beautiful smile?
If I opt for a complete smile makeover, how much will it cost me?
The answer to this depends on just how much you’re looking to get done and how many treatments your smile makeover requires. A simple teeth whitening, for example, will keep the expenses low, while procedures that require sedation and surgery will necessitate a greater investment. However, at the Dental Health Group will believe that every patient deserves the beauty and functionality of a healthy smile. As such, we provide a number of financing options to ensure you receive the treatment you deserve. Contact us today to have one of our staff take you through your financing options.
I’ve been told I have gum (periodontal) disease. What does that mean?
Your teeth aren’t the only things that matter when it comes to oral health: the supporting structure that keep your teeth in place are just as crucial. It is these very structures that periodontal disease affects, specifically the alveolar bone surrounding the teeth, which can be targeted by bacteria growing on the tooth surface as well as by an overzealous immune response. As this structure decays, your teeth may fall out, leading to a wide array of problems.
If you’ve received a diagnosis of periodontal disease, you’re not alone. Anywhere from 30% to 50% of North Americans share your fate, 10% of which are severe cases. Diagnosis is relatively simply, including both an inspection of the soft tissues of your mouth and visual analysis via radiograph.
Dental implants: what are they, exactly?
Dental implants are as close as you can get to replacing a natural tooth. Unlike other dental solutions, an implant won’t require support from nearby teeth, so you’ll have less risk of having these teeth shift. Altogether, this makes dental implants the perfect solution for just about every type of patient, from those who have lost a tooth due to periodontal disease or injury to those with great oral health who are just missing a tooth.
