Dr. Jacob George was born and raised in Kentville, Nova Scotia. He comes from a family of health care professionals. Both his father and older brother are prominent psychiatrists (his father in Kentville, and his brother in CAMH in Toronto). Dr. George completed his Bachelors of Science (Honours) in Microbiology at Acadia University with hopes of pursuing a career in health care. Before deciding on dentistry, Dr. George studied molecular biology and genetic research at McMaster University. He went back to Nova Scotia to study dentistry in 1998 at Dalhousie University in Halifax. After graduation in May 2002, he practiced for a year in the scenic St. John’s Newfoundland and then moved to Ontario in the summer of 2003. He worked in a large dental practice in Orangeville for almost 4 years, before deciding to buy a practice in Mississauga at the end of 2006.

It has always been a goal of mine to work with people to improve their lives and overall health! Dentistry is misunderstood and often feared area of health care. Many people are unaware just how much their oral health impacts their general health, especially if they have underlying systemic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or joint replacements.

Patients are becoming more knowledgeable about the dental treatments available. Dentistry is highly dynamic field, and it is our job as dental professionals to help them understand the ever-expanding treatment options available and select the one best suited to their particular need.
